Experience the Wilds of PA

Whether your travel plans include rest and relaxation or action and adventure, Great Valley Cabins is the ideal vacation destination. Our properties are located on scenic Route 6 in Tioga County, outside of the charming town of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Available year-round, and in an area that is surrounded by state parks, forests, and attractions that have acclaimed the attention of National Geographic and USA Today, you are sure to find plenty to do and even more to see. Here are just a few of the options.....

PA Grand Canyon - Whether you view the canyon while your hiking, biking, on horseback or in a covered wagon tour, you will be in awe of the natural beauty within "Pennsylvania's Crown Jewel". For a birdseye view there are scenic lookout points at each of the two state parks that border the canyon, Leonard Harrison State Park or Colton Point State Park

The Pine Creek Rails to Trails - One of the premier rails/trails in the northeast, the Pine Creek Trail in Pine Creek Gorge offers travelers a spectacular 61-mile journey through the area commonly reerred to as the Grand Cnayon of Pennsylvania. Relatively flat, with a grade of 2%, the trail runs from Wellsboro Junction south to Jersey Shore, traversing Tioga and Tiadaghton state forest lands. For 55 of its 61 miles it hugs Pine Creek, offering great views of dramatic rock outcrops and numerous waterfalls, and providing access to whitewater rafting and canoeing in the spring. You may be lucky enough to see an eagle, osprey, coyote or even a black bear on the hillside adjacent to the trail. Other wildlife can also be spotted in the gorge, including deer, wild turkeys, herons, hawks, river otters and beavers. Visit the link for parking and access points to this wonderful trail!!

Pine Creek Outfitters - Rent a canoe, kayak or raft and launch from one of several access points, each only a few miles from our cabins. Don't forget your fishing pole, as Pine Creek is well known for it's fishing and native trout streams.

Rafting- A very popular activity primarily in the spring when Pine Creek swells due to the melting snow pack, outfitters such as Pine Creek outfitters will be more than happy to take you onguided floats and offer raft and wet suit rentals. They do recommend reservations so here is there website.
